Visionary Vultures 2: Old World & Owls - New Kickstarter, New Pins Available!

Greetings from the Foxloft! I want to thank you again for supporting our fundraiser last year, thanks to you we were able to break ground on a new wildlife rehabilitation hospital and education ambassador bird building, greatly expanding the work we can do for wildlife and the local community.
I wanted to introduce our new pin project, this time featuring Old World Vultures and Owls!
Two days into the campaign we have already unlocked many stretch goals, including the highly requested California Condor portrait pin, great blue heron, blue jay, gull, and others! We are very close to unlocking the first of two free, Kickstarter-backer exclusive burrowing owl pins!
Please come take a look at our new project, there are many pins to compliment last year's set and add to your collection! Backers will also have the chance to purchase pins you might have missed (or want more of!) including some which have been sold out previously.
Thank you so much for being a part of our success, and for making our work (and these new art designs!) possible. This is a big year for us, as we hope to be able to finish constructing and outfitting our new buildings and hire a full time education coordinator to offer free wildlife stewardship programs to schools in need around the state.

Thank you for all the delightful comments, emails, messages, and photos of your pins; everyone's kind words and enjoyment kept me going through the crazy marathon that was shipping over 3000 packages in the last two months. I am so proud of how the pins turned out and hope that you enjoy them, too!
In a very tight race, the #1 most chosen pin was the Turkey Vulture! I am so happy about of this; that in this set of so many lovely birds, the usually unsung and overlooked turkey vulture reigns supreme.

Many people have asked where to purchase more pins, earrings, pendants, or other goodies from the campaign: They are currentlyavailable at Backerkit - Visionary Vultures Pins for Sale . I am shipping regularly now, so most orders will go out within 3-5 days. Pins, stickers, shirts, and other items make great gifts and are available exclusively through us! Eventually I will move them to my website store at foxloft.com, but for now they are available through the Backerkit site.
Lots of people (myself included) like pins but don't wear them a lot, so here are some creative display ideas which can help you show off your new collection!
Turn your pins into fridge magnets (Details further below)
Frame your pins using a shadow box frame (or use multiple layers of matboard to create space between the glass and the pins in a standard frame)
Make or purchase a pin pennant, embroidery hoop, or display scroll to hang on your wall (this makes pins easily removable for wear)
Use a cork board or framed cork board to create an easy, instant pin board
If you look up 'Enamel Pin Display' on a site like Etsy you will get many beautiful options like these below.
(As a quick note, I am not affiliated with any of these following sellers, so I can't vouch for any of them specifically; make sure you check out reviews before you order).

If you are crafty, you can snip the pin posts off the back of the pins using wire nippers, sand the cut smooth, and glue (I suggest a 2 part epoxy glue) strong magnets in their place to make flat fridge magnets. If you're not feeling so ambitious, you can purchase or make pin backs like those shown above which easily convert your pin into a magnet but still allow you to use it as a pin. If you google 'turn enamel pin into magnet' you can view many videos and web tutorials that go step by step through the process in more detail. Please be careful when modifying pins, if you apply too much force you can damage the enamel or metal plating. If you've not done this before, you might want to practice on cheap pins from the store, or seconds grade pins before trying it out on your own favorite pieces.
If you're comfortable with metal modifications you can also cut off and smooth the pin posts on the back and then glue a jewelry bail to the back of your pin with epoxy to make it into a pendant. Glue-on jewelry bails like those below can be purchased from craft stores or jewelry supply shops like Fire Mountain Gems, or on Etsy.
